What Is a Company Stamp?
A company stamp (also called a company chop, or cop syarikat in Malay) shows your business's registered name and SSM registration number. In Malaysia it is placed on invoices, quotations, purchase orders, letters and forms, usually next to an authorised signature, to show the document was issued by the company.
SSM does not require businesses to have a company stamp, but banks, government agencies and corporate clients often ask for stamped documents, so most businesses have one.
Company Stamp Format in Malaysia
- Company name exactly as registered, including the suffix: "Sdn. Bhd.", "Berhad", "Enterprise", "PLT" or "Trading"
- SSM registration number: the new 12-digit format, e.g. 202401234567. Many companies add the old number in brackets, e.g. 202401234567 (123456-A). See what the 12 digits mean.
- Address (optional), common on rectangular stamps
- Phone and email (optional), for a full-details stamp
Blue ink is the most common because it stands out from black-and-white photocopies. Red and black are also widely used.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a company stamp compulsory in Malaysia?
No. SSM does not require one, but banks, government agencies and corporate clients often ask for stamped documents, especially invoices, letters and forms.
Can I use a digital company stamp on invoices?
Yes. Digital stamps are widely used on PDF invoices, quotations and letters. If someone asks for a wet stamp on the original paper, use a rubber stamp; you can make one from the SVG file.
Should I put the old or new SSM number on my stamp?
The 12-digit number is the official number now. Many companies still add the old number in brackets so long-time partners recognise it.
How much does a company stamp cost?
On CopOnline, RM4.99 for an HD digital company stamp (PNG and SVG), or RM9.90 with a matching letterhead. Rubber stamps from shops usually cost RM30 to RM80.
How fast can I get it?
Immediately after FPX payment. Most people finish in under 5 minutes, with no account needed.
Can I make a stamp for an enterprise or PLT?
Yes. Use the business name exactly as on your SSM registration, including "Enterprise" or "PLT".
